The woopcurve
woop's bonding curve, which funklaunch is built on. Every coin opens at a $5k market cap and graduates at $50k.
The woopcurve is where every new funklaunch coin trades until it graduates into its own WAMM pool. It's woop's curve, and funklaunch is built on it, so nothing launches on Raydium, pump.fun or Meteora.
At a glance
| Supply | 1B coins |
| Sold on the curve | 760M (the rest goes to the pool) |
| Opening market cap | $5k |
| Graduation market cap | $50k |
| What it takes to graduate | about $12k in, after sells and fees (about 125 SOL with SOL at $96) |
| Refund | if it hasn't graduated 7 days after launch |
The curve is set from the pair token's dollar price at launch, which is why every coin opens at $5k whatever its pair. That price is only used once; after that, the curve runs purely on what's inside it.
Market cap
$5.35k
Every coin opens at a $5k market cap, on any pair. The first 60 seconds are one Fair Block.
How the price climbs
The woopcurve is a constant-product curve (x · y = k), the same shape most curves use. Buying pushes the price up and selling brings it down.
On a SOL pair with SOL at $96:
| SOL in | 0 | 1 | 5 | 10 | 25 | 50 | 75 | 100 | 125 |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Market cap | $5.0k | $5.2k | $5.9k | $6.9k | $10.3k | $17.4k | $26.4k | $37.2k | $50k |
A 1 SOL buy right at launch gets you about 18.9M coins, 1.9% of the supply. Close to graduation, the same 1 SOL gets about 1.9M.
Coins stay on the curve
Until graduation, coins only move through funklaunch. You can buy, sell and queue them, and they show up in your wallet, but you can't send them to another wallet yet.
That lets the program keep track of every position, so nobody can get around the sell limits or the refund rules by splitting a bag across wallets. When the coin graduates, every coin unlocks for good.
The fair start
The first 60 seconds are a single Fair Block:
- Every buy in it gets the same price, the creator's included.
- No wallet can put in more than 2% of the opening market cap, about $100.
- Instant trading waits until it's over.
Ways to trade
| When it fills | Fee | Limit | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Instant buy | right away | 1.5% | none |
| Fair Block, buy or sell | within a few seconds | 1.5% | none |
| Exit Queue sell | as buyers arrive, at your price or better | 1% | two orders per wallet |
| Instant sell | right away | 10% | a fifth of your position, one a minute |
- Instant sells are 10% for everyone.
- An instant buy fills from the Exit Queue first (1%), then from the curve (1.5%).
- While a Fair Block has orders in it, instant trades wait a few seconds.
Instant sells
On a 1 SOL trade
- HoldersWeighted by amount × time held4%
- CreatorThe coin’s creator3%
- funklaunchPlatform3%
- Total10%
The fifth is worked out from your first instant sell, so five instant sells get you all the way out. Buying more starts the count again.
The cheaper ways out are a Fair Block (1.5%, a few seconds) or the Exit Queue (1%).
Fair Blocks
Orders gather for a few seconds, then the whole block settles at one price. Buyers and sellers are matched against each other, and the curve only takes what's left over. A Fair Block sell can be any size. More in Fair Blocks.
Exit Queue
Put coins in the queue with the lowest price you'll accept. Instant buys fill from it at the curve's price, so the price doesn't drop. You get paid automatically as your coins sell, and you can cancel the rest whenever you like. More in Exit Queue.
The creator's advance
Every creator gets a 1 SOL launch advance: their first 1 SOL of coins, bought in the fair start at the same price as everyone else. No real SOL goes in; the advance is virtual.
- It gets paid back first, out of the creator's fees.
- If the coin graduates with some of it still owed, the coins for that part are burned.
- If the coin is refunded, the unpaid part gets nothing back, so holders lose nothing to it.
- On other pairs, the advance is 1 SOL's worth of the pair token.
The creator's coins
Every coin the creator's wallet buys is locked, including the advance. The creator can't sell before graduation.
After graduation, an equal amount unlocks each day for 10 days. At launch the creator can choose a longer lock, up to 4 years with a cliff of up to a year, and later they can only make it longer. More in Creator lock.
Graduation
Once all 760M coins are sold, the coin graduates into its own WAMM pool by itself, within seconds.
The creator gets a graduation bonus of 0.4% of the raise, about 0.5 SOL, paid out of funklaunch's share of the fees.
Refunds
A coin that hasn't graduated 7 days after launch switches to refunds:
- Trading stops.
- What's left in the curve goes back to every wallet in proportion to what it put in, minus anything it already took out. Everyone gets back the same percentage.
- A wallet that already took out more than it put in gets nothing more.
- For the creator, only the part of the advance their fees paid back counts.
- funklaunch pays every wallet automatically, and refunds are free.
- Afterwards your coins unfreeze, so you can burn them and close the account to get its rent back.
- The coins themselves stay locked and are worth nothing.
